Tampere Forum

The Tampere Club organized a seminar 19 August 2003 for the business, administration and politics management and the representatives of scientific research in co-operation with the Tampere University of Technology and Tampere Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The general theme was “The Future of the Welfare State” and the opening speaker was Professor James M. Buchanan. The subject of his lecture was "Sustainability of Democracy and Globalization". Other speakers were Foreign Minister of Finland Erkki Tuomioja, Minister of Social Affairs and Health Sinikka Mönkäre and the executives in business and administration. There were over 100 participants at the seminar.

Aamulehti Jubileum Seminar

2006 the Tampere Forum was held together with local newspaper Aamulehti which was holding its 125 year celebrations. The main speakers were Professors Enda Ullmann-Margalit and Russell Hardin, Director of the Finnish Bank, Mr. Erkki Liikanen, Director Esko Aho (SITRA) and the Minister of Finance, Mr. Eero Heinäluoma.
