Publications

The second volume in the Tampere Club Series is titled "Preconditions of Democracy". The volume includes articles by: Michael Baurmann and Reinhard Zintl, Elinor Ostrom, Geoffrey Brennan, Ruth Zimmerling, Ernesto Garzón Valdés, James Fishkin, Aleksander Peczenik, Ilkka Niiniluoto, Bruno S. Frey and the Tampere Lecture 2004 by President Martti Ahtisaari. The volume is edited by Professor Geoffrey Brennan and co-edited by Professors Michael Baurmann and Reinhard Zintl.

The first volume in the new publication series, The Tampere Club Series, was published in the summer 2005 under the Tampere University Press on the topic "Globalisation and Democracy". This volume includes articles by Professors Michael Baurmann, James M. Buchanan, Geoffrey Brennan, Abdou Filali-Ansary, Bruno S. Frey, Ernesto Garzón Valdés, Philip Pettit, Ruth Zimmerling, Reinhard Zintl and Raimo Väyrynen. The book is edited by Professor Ruth Zimmerling.

The first publication of the Tampere Club "The Future of Democracy" consists of the articles on the theme of the first meeting in 2002. The book includes several articles written, for instance, by Professors James M. Buchanan, Guillermo O´Donnell, Hassan Hanafi and Hide Ishiguro. The book includes also a general introduction to the Tampere Club given by the Secretary General of the Club, Professor Aulis Aarnio.
